Greater Palm Springs is dog-friendly to friendly dogs, which makes it the perfect place to relax with your favorite friends and family members, especially the 4-legged ones. At the Biskra House, you’re welcome to bring your pup (just remember to let us know), and with so many great restaurants offering dog-friendly outdoor seating, there’s no reason to leave your constant companion at home.
Rancho Mirage
Acqua
A flagship restaurant at the River shopping center, Acqua is a pleasant walk from The Biskra House. It features an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus (with gluten-free and vegetarian options) and a spacious patio with misters.
Maracas Cantina
We always have a good time here; they frequently have live music and the margaritas go down easy. We like the carnitas platter (it’s huge!) and the steak salad. Tip: The patio gate needs to be opened from the inside, just send someone in to ask a server and they’ll get you set up on the patio.
Pinzimini
This restaurant patio at The Westin Mission Hills Rancho Mirage not only welcomes dogs, they provide a Patio Pooch menu complete with doggy dessert.
Si Bon Belgian Bistro
Belgian Bistro open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Locals love their brunch, with mango stuffed French toast a particular favorite, and waffle sandwiches are a lunch-time hit. Full bar with two Belgian beers on tap.
State Fare Bar + Kitchen at the Ritz
Delicious food and great views at this California casual eatery at the Ritz, which specializes in classic American cocktails and California wines. The State Fare Prime Burger gets two thumbs up.
Palm Desert
Fix Dessert House
Local from-scratch bakery offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with custom cakes, gourmet coffee, and a full bar.
Fresh Agave Mexican Bar and Grill
Traditional and contemporary homestyle Mexican fare and a variety of drinks. Small patio fills up fast.
Palm’s Cafe
Nestled into the corner next to Trader Joe’s, this family-owned cafe features hearty, diner-type fare for breakfast and lunch. There is also a Rancho Mirage location at 69930 Hwy 111 but it does not have outdoor seating.
Indian Wells
Eureka!
Burgers reign supreme at this craft beer, small-batch spirits, and American comfort food chain, though there are plenty of tasty choices on the menu. Friendly service and spacious, stylish patio with misters.
Palm Springs
Cafe Europa
Upscale breakfast and brunch spot featuring fresh, organic ingredients. Patio seating with misters.
Cheeky’s
A delicious brunch spot open from 8 am to 2 pm Thursday through Monday. Emphasis on fresh, organic food and a menu that changes weekly.
Copley’s on Palm Canyon
Upscale American cuisine on Cary Grant’s former estate with a lovely, dog-friendly patio.
Jake’s
This is one of our favorite brunch spots. We are particularly fond of the crab cakes and the Monte Cubano sandwich. The horseradish vodka bloody mary and cactus pear margaritas are delicious as well.
Lulu California Bistro
Festive California Cuisine with gluten-free and vegetarian options, Spacious patio with misters. Pro tip: this restaurant has the same owner as Acqua, and a nearly identical menu.
Spencer’s
This is an elegant restaurant located in the hills of Palm Springs named after the owner’s dog. Your furry friend is welcome to join you on the lovely patio, and you will love both the updated American classic food and the exceptional wine list.
Norma’s (at the Parker House hotel)
We like Norma’s for special occasion breakfast or brunch. It’s fun to check out the Jonathan Adler designed 70’s chic hotel, and the “indulgent comfort food” menu is delicious (though a bit pricey).
Native Foods
This is a vegan restaurant that will please even die-hard carnivores. After all, you still get french fries. This restaurant now has many locations, but Palm Springs was the first.
Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel
California fare and a craft cocktail list on a picture-perfect patio.
